The Highest Paying Jobs In Las Vegas That Only Require 2-Year Degree
Finding jobs in Las Vegas doesn’t mean you need a doctorate degree to make a nice living for yourself.
As inflation makes the purchasing power of our dollar weaker, some people may be itching for a new career change.
Maybe you’re looking for a pay increase from your current position, or maybe you just want a change of pace. But, not having a four-year degree won’t deter you from finding a job that provides you with a comfortable living.
Stacker compiled a list of the highest-paying jobs in the Las Vegas valley that only require two-year degrees. According to the data, the highest paying job that requires a two-year degree is an air traffic controller.
The annual income for an air traffic controller is $114,970, according to Stacker‘s data. Las Vegas is the 20th highest-paid city for air traffic controllers.
However, just because you need a two-year degree doesn’t mean this is an easy job to jump into. You still need certifications and credentials to work as an air traffic controller. And different companies may have different policies when it comes to the amount of schooling you need. It’s also competitive and only a small percentage of those in training will actually be these high-paid air traffic controllers. If it was that easy, wouldn’t everyone do it?
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Initiative Partnership Programs “offer two- and four-year non-engineering aviation degrees that teach basic courses in air traffic control and aviation administration.”
So, you still need to pass a few tests in order to obtain the coveted pay check.
In Las Vegas, many people think the main-money making jobs revolve around the casino. And this is true. There’s no denying that working in the hospitality industry is lucrative. But there are other industries that are currently hiring and need more employees!
Other occupations that ended up on the list include magnetic resonance imaging technologists, mechanical engineering technologists and technicians, nuclear medicine technologists, dental hygienists and diagnostic medical sonographers.
