Scale The STRAT 2024: The Energy On The 108th Floor

Me standing next to one of our Las Vegas Firefighters after the climb. Can you believe this guy did all 1,455 of those steps in this gear! Remember, that's an added 120 pounds he had to carry up 108 flights! But these heroes are used to this kind of thing. Unbelievable.

A big event happened in Las Vegas this weekend. The 2024 Scale The STRAT – Fight For Air Climb event. Folks from all over the world came out to climb 1,455 steps up to the top of the STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower on the Las Vegas Strip. I was at the very top, on the 108th floor, because I had the honor of providing the jams at the finish line. I was happy to volunteer my time to DJ for what I called “a party with a purpose.”

How Scale The STRAT Helps In Las Vegas

All the proceeds from Scale the STRAT directly supports the American Lung Association. According to their website, the funds raised go towards groundbreaking research initiatives, which are vital for progress in the fight against lung disease. As well as in providing advancement of the treatments for those in need.

Many organizations participated in Scale The STRAT. By doing so, they were able to help the American Lung Association implement these essential community programs and services. These initiatives work to improve lung health education, prevent lung disease, and support those living with respiratory conditions. Sponsors for Scale The STRAT included Desert Radiology, Dignity Health, Steinberg Diagnostic, and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. All of whom volunteered their time and services for the event.

The Energy At Scale The STRAT 2024

It was so exciting to see so many travelers come from all over the world to climb for this great cause. Since I was on the top floor DJing, I got to see every individual as they ran through the finish line. Every one of them rushed through with relief, and exhaustion all over their bodies.

And while climbing 1,455 is impressive enough, I gotta give a shout out to our Las Vegas Firefighters. They climbed in their full gear. Adding 120 lbs to this already difficult task. Check out the photos I got from the top floor.

Being that Las Vegas is the Entertainment Capital of the World, many entertainers need to stay fit to uphold their jobs. Las Vegas has acknowledge the need to provide their residents with places to work out.

The best part is that there is a plethora of unique gyms, work out centers and fitness hotspots to choose from. Most Vegas gym memberships require that their members be 16 years or older to work out at their facility. Any minor under the age of 18 would need a parent-member for supervision. Each gym has different policies and regulations.

Gyms provide all different kinds of needs from personal trainers, work out equipment, tanning beds, massage beds, water beds, private rooms, movie theaters, pools and more. It’s important to add exercise into your daily routine as it helps with blood flow, muscle building, improvement of flexibility and weight loss.

Whether you’re a gym shark or a newbie, going to the gym is important for ones overall health. According to the CDC.gov, “Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.”

Joining a gym helps increase your chances of bettering yourself emotionally and physically. Going to the gym has been known to improve stress levels, anxiety flares and lower energy levels.

We researched Google data to find the best gyms in Vegas that locals should check out. We found gyms that were ranked with over 50 reviews to be considered in this list. We also looked at categories including but not limited to friendliness, cleanliness and hours of operation.

Joining a gym isn’t just another chore on the list of things to do but a way to upgrade your life for the better. Be picky with your gym picking and make the choice that is right for you.
