Las Vegas 7-11 New Operating Managers Tell Their Amazing Story
A North Las Vegas 7-11 has brand new operating managers, and their story is as sweet as their Slurpees. Growing up as a kid, I’ve always been taught to go to school, get a good education, go to college, and get a good job. Never have I been taught how to become an entrepreneur.
So when I walked into a local North Las Vegas 7-11, I was excited to see that this popular franchise is run by a black power couple. The operating managers are Kellie Jackson and her husband Joshua Jackson. They are the first black couple to run a 7-11 franchise here in the valley.
The Jacksons are the newest operating managers of this North Las Vegas 7-11 and they are committed to giving back to the community with their new franchise.
How A Power Couple Took Over This Las Vegas 7-11
I spoke with this impressive couple to discuss their success in becoming operating managers of their first 7-11 store. Their story gave me chills. According to Mr. Jackson, he worked for Kevin Lucero, for a little under 10 years.
Lucero mentored Jackson and taught him managerial skills. Little did Jackson know, Lucero was preparing him for elevation. Mr. Lucero was ready to retire after 22 years and thought that Mr. Jackson was more than capable of taking over the franchise. Jackson thought he would need to find a new job when Lucero retired.
Jackson even had a job interview scheduled the day that Lucero called him in to tell him the news. Even though Jackson did not have the capital to buy the store from Lucero, he got it anyway. Lucero literally handed the store over to the Jackson family. A testament to Jackson’s hard work over the years and the respect he earned from his boss.
This Las Vegas 7-11 Has More To Offer Than Slurpees
When you think about 7-11, you think of slurpees, pastries, coffee, and snacks. However, according to the new operating managers, they plan on giving back to the community by providing a store that is family-oriented, clean, and a positive atmosphere.

They also plan to support other small businesses in the community by providing a fish bowl for business owners to drop their cards into. Each month the Jacksons will pull one card and highlight that business with free items and a place on their “Jackson’s Business Wall of Fame”.
This 7-11 store is owned by Las Vegas locals, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Jackson. they have big plans for this franchise.
