Antonio Brown Immediately Files For a Painful Bankruptcy

Antonio Brown is known to be one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play in the NFL. The 35-year-old Miami native has truly made a name for himself in the league.

But, Brown has recently gotten himself in a whirlwind of trouble with the most recent news involving Brown filing for bankruptcy, according to multiple media outlets.

In fact on X (formerly Twitter), Brown said, “Greatest bankruptcy announcement of all-time.”

While his on-field playing was great, consider that his antics include but are not limited to chucking furniture out of a 14th-floor balcony, removing half of his uniform and running off during a Buccaneers-Jets game, and exposing himself to women in a pool. Well, the drama hasn’t stopped there.

Antonio Brown Is One Of The Greatest Ever to Do It On The Field

Brown is one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play football. According to statmuse.com Antonio Brown played 12 seasons for the Steelers, Buccaneers, and Patriots. He had 928 catches for 12,291 yards and scored 88 touchdowns, along with 187 punt returns for 1,761 yards. He was selected to play in 7 Pro Bowls and won 1 championship.” In my opinion, he’s one of the best slot receivers to ever play the game. Brown, frequently referred to by his initials, AB, started his professional career after a very entertaining college football performance at Central Michigan University. Brown’s performance led him to be drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL draft.

However, Brown’s drama stats were just as big if not bigger than his game. On December 1, 2022, AB found himself in the news headlines when Tampa police attempted to serve him with an arrest warrant. The warrant was related to domestic violence charges from an incident with his ex-fiancée on November 28. According to reports, Brown allegedly threw a shoe at his former partner during an argument. Brown also allegedly threw her belongings in the street and threatened to shoot her if she returned to the house.

According to wusf.com “Antonio Brown was kicked off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a bizarre, shirtless exit from the field before Tom Brady coolly led the Bucs on a 93-yard drive in the final minutes for a 28-24 victory over the New York Jets.”  AB was on a podcast with Tyreek Hill explaining his side of the story.

Before we get into the top NBA superstars today, let’s do some NBA history and look at the top players of all time. There’s a reason they call LeBron James the GOAT. He’s the best ever, according to the raw statistics and numbers via NBA.com. James knows how to really handle the pressure and fame.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, James went into detail about his fame and how it has impacted his life, both personal and professional. “I don’t want to say it ever becomes too much, but there are times when I wish I could do normal things,” he said. “I wish I could go to Target sometimes and walk into Starbucks and have my name on the cup just like regular people.” He obviously can’t do that without everyone rushing to meet the greatest basketball player of all time. NBA experts know that when you have a superstar as big as James, he never plays an away game. No matter what city he’s in, people will go to that game just to see him. I have yet to see the GOAT in action, so I hope he returns next year, so I can catch him live.

No. 2 on the list of the greatest NBA players of all time, according to the NBA’s stats, is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He played until he was 42 in an era where that was even more rare than it is today. So, how did he avoid burning out? Speaking with the Harvard Business Review, Abdul-Jabbar said, “I just thought that I had the greatest job in the world, and I wanted to keep it as long as I could. I knew it wouldn’t last forever.” He also noted that in one of his books, he quoted Jackie Robinson saying, “Athletes die twice,” because when you’re no longer playing professional sports, it’s a kind of a death. That’s deep.
