Jake Paul VS. Mike Tyson New Ultimate Fight Date

Jake Paul Vs Mike Tyson was the most highly anticipated fight and was such a disappointment when it was canceled. The original date was scheduled for July 20 at Jerry’s house. At&T Stadium in Arlington Texas. The fight was postponed after Tyson suffered a medical emergency on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26. Medical personnel boarded the plane upon its landing to attend to Tyson for what was later confirmed to be an ulcer flare-up.

Jake Paul Will Still Have His Hands Full

According to Tennessean.com, The issue was not viewed as serious, however, it was enough for doctors to recommend that Tyson shift to “minimal to light training” for a few weeks before going back to full training. Although the issue does not seem serious for Tyson, it does raise larger questions about whether the fight should be happening at all. Tyson will be 58 years old on June 30.

Even though I am just as concerned for Mike Tyson’s well-being, I also realize that the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world is not built like the average 58-year-old. It’s not like it’s an average Joe coming off the streets to fight, we are talking about half man half machine! Jake Paul is a Youtuber turned fighter, and I have to admit, he is very talented in the ring. But does he deserve to be in the same room let alone the same ring as Iron Mike Tyson? What has Jake Paul really accomplished to deserve a shot at Mike Tyson?

According to espn.com, Jake Paul won six consecutive fights to start his boxing career but suffered the first defeat in a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury back in February. Fury holds a record of 10-0 and I feel he hasn’t earned the privilege to Mike. There are rules to this thing! but I guess the rules change once money is involved. It is estimated to be one of the biggest fights in this era. MMA Weekly reports Mike Tyson can still attract more attention than most other boxers ahead of his Jake Paul bout despite his age.

Well, whether you or going for Jake Paul, or Iron Mike, you can officially mark your calendars for the new fight date. The boxing match, with undercard Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, will now take place Nov. 15 inside Jerry’s house aka AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas. Netflix will still broadcast to basic subscribers. Surprisingly this fight will be held on a Friday instead of on a Saturday. And that’s probably due to the Stadium’s availability.

I am still riding with Mike Tyson to win by knock-out! My prediction is Jake Paul will go down in round 3.

Canelo Alvarez is truly king in the ring. The super middleweight champion towered over Jaime Munguia in their much-anticipated fight on Saturday (May 4), and he scored a unanimous win. So, who are the best boxers in the world right now, pound-for-pound?

Before we get to the best boxers in the world right now, let’s look closer at Alvarez and his win. Now that he’s consistently pulled off definitive wins, the public wants to see him fight David Benavidez, “The Mexican Monster,” who caught everyone’s attention after beating both Caleb Plant and Demetrius Andrade.

After the May 4 fight, Alvarez was asked about fighting Benavidez, who has been talking smack about him, as they say. “If the money’s right … I can fight [Benavidez] right now,” Alvarez said in a post-fight press conference. “I don’t give a s—. It’s only a matter of money at this point. Everybody is asking for everything. When I fought [Erislandy] Lara, Austin Trout, Miguel Angel Cotto, [Floyd] Mayweather, Billy Joe Saunders, GGG, everybody said I don’t want to fight them, and I fought all of them. So right now … I can do whatever I want.”

It’s true that Alvarez can do whatever he wants, as he’s very successful. But, is he really the best if he won’t fight the one guy that everyone wants him to fight? Hey, I can’t contest Alvarez’s record and legacy. But, give the people what they want, Alvarez. Everyone would love to see some of the best boxers in the world duke it out.

Benavidez wants the fight with Alvarez. He wants it badly. He was there Saturday, promoting his June 15 Las Vegas fight vs. Oleksandr Gvozdyk. “The fans now are getting upset because this is the biggest fight on the table,” Benavidez told ESPN during a news conference. “And why are we going to leave it on the table for no reason? This is a fight that has to happen. … And I’m going to keep putting these types of performances on where people are going to want to see it. The demand of this fight is really high. It’s bad blood. I don’t like him. He doesn’t like me.”

So, we all want to see the fight. If it happens, it will draw a lot of money and interest. For now, lots of interest rests on Benavidez’s upcoming fight against Gvozdyk. He’s moving up to light heavyweight for the fight. I’m such a fan of boxing, since it’s so classic and old-fashioned.
