Aces Forward McCoughtry Out For Season With Torn ACL
The Las Vegas Aces suffered a blow to their championship hopes as forward Angel McCoughtry tore her ACL and meniscus in her right knee during a a scrimmage last Saturday against L.A. and will miss the upcoming season. McCoughtry was a vital part of the Aces’ run to the WNBA finals last season, averaging 14 points and 5.5 rebounds a game in the regular season and 15.5 points during the playoffs. McCoughtry is a six time all WNBA selection and a five time All-Star, as well as a seven time All-Defensive team choice. McCoughtry sat out the 2019 season with a right knee injury after 1o seasons with Atlanta before joining Vegas as a free agent last season. She said in a statement that she plans to “conquer this challenge even better than last time.” The Aces open the regular season this Saturday with a two game series on the road against defending champion Seattle.
