Founded in 1910 here in the United States, Father’s Day is a holiday for honoring one’s father or father figure and is typically celebrated on the third Sunday in June. This Sunday, June 18 is that day for us.

It’s safe to say that less planning and fanfare goes into celebrating Father’s Day than our counterpart’s holiday of Mother’s Day but most men are fine with that. Let’s be honest, most dads just want to spend the day relaxing in the backyard stoking the BBQ with a cold beverage in hand.

Before we take a look at this year’s ‘fictional fathers’ worthy of a ‘Father Of The Year’ award, we have to mention these real-life men making headlines for their fathering skills.

Not to be out done by his long-time acting buddy Robert De Niro, who just welcomed his seventh child ‘Gia‘ this past April at the age of 79, the older 82 year-old Al Pacino is reportedly about to become a daddy again as his  29 year-old girlfriend Noor Alfallah is expecting.

Al Pacino

According to Buzzfeed, Pacino commented by saying, “I’ve got many kids. But this is really special coming at this time”.

This would actually only be Pacino’s fourth child so his comment of “I’ve got many kids” is comical in comparison to Nick Cannon who has fathered twelve (so far).

Sadly, The Maury Show ended its run last September leaving us without an intense Father’s Day episode to look forward to this year. Maury’s trademark declaration of a man’s paternal results have become part of our own DNA.

Regardless of whether or not you are flesh and blood, having a positive male role-model in one’s life is a vital part of our upbringing. So to all of you real-life fathers and father figures, we commend you for all you do. Have a “Happy Father’s Day!”

Now, onto these ten fictional dads who stood out above the rest this past year who are all deserving of a ‘Father Of The Year’ award.
