Drake Will Name Drop A Video Game In His Raps Under One Condition
If you pay attention to what Drake does in his free time, you’ll know he entered into a $5,000 Fortnite Match with one of the most well known Twitch gamers, Ninja.
According to XXL, during the match, Ninja asked Drake if he would ever name drop the game into any new lyrics for upcoming songs. Considering that most brands will pay rappers to do this, Drake, being opportunistic, had a great idea to make this possible.
He told Ninja, “It has to happen, it’s just got to be the right way,… Someone’s going to do it. Someone’s going to pull it off. I say when Epic gives me the emote—when Epic gives me the ‘Hotline Bling’ emote—I’ll do it. Until then, I’m on strike.”
For those who aren’t gamers, the emote he’s talking about refers to the pose/movement you can get for your Fortnite character for the game. So in short, Drake will totally give the game some repping, as long as they can program the ‘Hotline Bling’ dance for a character emote. Seems fair, right?
It seems extremely likely that this could happen, considering that Fortnite has been asking users to enter the #Boogiedown competition, where users submit their best dance moves in hopes of their emote becoming available to be programmed into their gaming character. Sounds like Drizzy may already have something in the works. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see a character do that dance?
