It’s Been 22 Years, Yet We Still Have Theories On Tupac’s Death
This year alone, there’s been 3 major productions surrounding the East Coast / West Coast turf wars, and the killings of Tupac and Biggie.
And while Hollywood has taken their crack at it, whether it be ‘Unsolved,’ BET’s Death Row Documentary, or the recently pulled Johnny Depp / Forest Witaker Film, it’s still apparent that people have doubts on the circumstances, or in the most extreme cases, some people believe that Tupac is still alive.
Many people believe that Tupac is roaming around somewhere in Cuba & supposedly this is him today. pic.twitter.com/niL1coQ6cg

Places like The Sun have gathered photo after photo of people that look extremely similar to “eh, not so much” on their site, claiming that Tupac may have faked his own death, and it was orchestrated by the CIA. Others believe that the CIA themselves took out Tupac. These conspiracies are nothing new. I remember when I was in 7th grade, kids were saying that Tupac was still alive, in Jamaica, sippin’ on daiquiris. However, now the internet is way more vast, things are way easier to fabricate, or way easier to spread amongst the people.
Nicolo Machiavelli was an italian artist who wrote about faking his own death to fool his enemies.... sound familiar?

Twitter users have made the connection to Machiavelli, and weave full stories in a feed to discuss the potential ways this could have occurred, along with talking amongst themselves in how it could have played out, who really shot him, and why he wasn’t wearing a bulletproof vest.
Some even believe that after he was shot, he was smuggled to Barbados via plane to live his life out in peace after almost dying, and was making sure that nobody would be able to finish the job.
Of course, the sanctioned (and most likely) of stories is the one we all know: That Tupac died after his shooting and that Keefe D played a role in the murder of Shakur.
NME quotes him saying ” I was a Compton kingpin, drug dealer, I’m the only one alive who can really tell you story about the Tupac killin… People have been pursuing me for 20 years, I’m coming out now because I have cancer. And I have nothing else to lose. All I care about now is the truth.”
Keefe D confessed to being in the car when it occurred, but due to “street code,” he wouldn’t name the shooter, and “It just came from the backseat bro.” Most of this was then depicted in USA’s Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. show.
Could there be more evidence? What’s the truth in all of this? Have we just had too much time to think about this, and it’s really that cut and dry?
22 years later, all we have are just conspiracies and he said/she said recollections.
