According to The Daily Mail out of England, Jada Pinkett Smith has admitted to having had an affair with singer August Alsina while being married to husband Will Smith.
The couple sat down on her Facebook page and during one of her Red Table Talks came clean about the relationship. From time to time we’ve heard rumors about Will and Jada having an “open relationship,” in other words, though they are married they allegedly are free to have physical relationships with others outside of wedlock, provided that there are “no strings attached” and is it only for physical reasons. However, this appears on the surface to have gone a little further than that.
Jada (48 years old) said that she’d met the 27-year-old August through her 22-year-old son Jaden, and they quickly became friends about four years ago. Right around then, Jada admits that she had separated from Will for a brief period of time. Jada went on to say that August was going through a tough emotional time and she was there for him because he “…just needed some help, me wanting to help his health, his mental state,” which is how the two became entangled.
Later the two became more involved and Jada says that eventually, Will pushed her to “call it a relationship.” She says that at the time, she didn’t need to get permission from Will since the two had separated. She used the phrase that she and Will were going through “a difficult time” and they had “basically broken up.”
During the conversation with Will, he said, “I was done with you,” after his wife said that “you and I were going through a difficult time.” She continued, “I was in a lot of pain and I was very broken.”
I’ve hung out with Will Smith several times. He’s a cool guy. Down to earth, friendly, very funny and easy to get along with. I’ve never met Jada. Don’t know her, and can only go on what I’ve seen, which seems like she’s pretty cool. I don’t want to play favorites because I’ve hung out with Will. However, I AM curious, and have to ask YOU!
At what point in a relationship is it acceptable to date outside of your marriage? Was Jada wrong? Was August wrong? Was it Will’s fault?
