Meal Kit Delivery Service Prices Compared To Walmart Prices FinanceBuzz.com studied the six most popular meal kit delivery services including Purple Carrot, Home Chef, Blue Apron, HelloFresh, Dinnerly, and EveryPlate. Except for Purple Carrot, which is 100% vegetarian, they compared ten different meals and cuisines from each website. Chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian meal kits were included in this study. Then, they compared those prices to Walmart prices, since they’re the nation’s largest grocery store chain. Of course, if you do not do your shopping at Walmart, the comparison results would vary. Overall, when comparing ingredient costs for all six meal kit delivery services, you’re paying anywhere from 51% to 64% more on average.
