Picazzo kept the music going at The American Lung Association’s annual “Fight For Air Stair Climb: Scale The Strat” event. This event raises awareness and money for lung disease research.

The mission is to climb the entirety of the Strat’s staircase.

While climbing on the steps, the rapid elevation change and the number of stairs leaves most attendees out of breath. Almost mirroring the experience of those who do suffer from lung conditions such as cystic fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis, asthma, COPD and more.

Picazzo originally was going to scale the Strat. However, after being called to DJ the official “Make it to the Top Part,” he realized that this was a mission he couldn’t pass up. I mean, who else was going to motivate the out-of-breathe climbers who made it to the finish line?

If you’re interested in scaling the Strat, we definitely recommend everyone trying this challenge at least once in their life. This event is designed for every time of climber from beginner to competitive. It’s up to you how you climb: you can race to the top or take it at your speed. You can even assemble your own climb crew!

Picazzo’s fellow co-workers from Beasley Media Group’s sister stations scaled the Strat and partied with Picazzo at the top! Shawn Stevens and Ransom Garica from 107.9 Coyote Country, Sammi Reeves and Shawn Tempesta from 102.7 VGS, Taya from Jammin’ 105.7, and Mike O’Brian and Wendy Rush from 96.3 KKLZ scaled the Strat! It was truly a family affair.

Our mission at Jammin’ 105.7 is to give back to our community. If you know anyone that is affected by a lung condition then we hope you take a few moments to recognize their strength and resilience. To fight for air is a fight that not many can do.

Thank you American Lung Association of Nevada for organizing this amazing event! We will see you all next year in 2024.
