After doing collaborations for a couple of years, Misdemeanor released her debut studio album, Supa Dupa Fly in 1997. The Grammy winner and Rock Hall inductee has had a successful career in music ever since, and is known for her creative visuals in her music videos.

This Barbie girl celebrates her birthday on July 2. The Australian actress studied drama in college, and after a few commercials and independent thriller films under her belt, Robbie relocated to Melbourne to begin acting professionally. Born Curtis James Jackson III in Queens, NY, he began rapping in a friend’s basement, where he used turntables to record over instrumentals. 50 began pursuing a musical career in 1996. After he recorded his unreleased debut album Power of the Dollar, he was struck by nine bullets during a shooting in 2000, causing its release to be canceled and Jackson to be dropped from Columbia Records. His 2002 mixtape, Guess Who’s Back? was discovered by Eminem, who signed 50 to his label that same year. He has since focused on his career in television, having executive-produced and starred in the television series Power and its spin-offs.

The Beatles drummer celebrates his birthday on July 7. The English musician, who was born Richard Starkey, occasionally sang lead vocals with the legendary rock band, usually for one song on each album, including “Yellow Submarine” and “With a Little Help from My Friends.” As a drummer, Starr’s playing style is influential among drummers because of his techniques of playing with feeling more than the technical aspects of it.
