Governor Sisolak Announces Nevada Moving Into Phase One Of Reopening Starting Tomorrow
Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced in a news conference yesterday that he is ready to move the state into phase one of his reopening plan. Starting at 12:01am on Saturday morning, certain businesses will be allowed to reopen, including restaurants, barbershops, hair and nail salons, most retail businesses, auto dealers, open air shopping malls, and dispensaries. Casinos will not be reopening yet. Nightclubs, bars, gyms, rec centers and community swimming pools, movie theaters, strip clubs, and tattoo shops are among the businesses that will remain closed. Businesses that are being allowed to reopen must follow specific guidelines and restrictions according the governor’s phased reopening plan for the state. Governor Sisolak in his announcement reiterated that residents should continue to practice social distancing and recommends wearing a mask when out in public whenever possible. Employees of businesses that are being allowed to reopen must wear face coverings at work. Also yesterday, the Nevada Gaming Commission did approve guidelines for casinos to reopen when the state moves into the next phase of reopening.
