Serena Williams’ Agent Hopeful For U.S. Open Return
Serena Williams’ agent, Jill Smoller, is hopeful that the tennis star will be able to play in this year’s U.S. Open.
Smoller told TMZ Sports that Williams is trying to shake off her leg injury in time for the U.S. Open in a couple of weeks.
“She’s doing great,” Smoller said.
The tennis star got hurt in Wimbledon during her first-round match on June 29. The 39-year-old received a standing ovation as she broke down in tears leaving the court.

Smoller revealed that Williams for right now is “just doing rehab” but is scheduled to attend the U.S. Open kick-off in New York on Aug. 30.
Williams’ reputation is very well-respected on the court having been told by many rising tennis stars that she is their icon. The most notable, 23-year-old Naomi Osaka who will be playing in the 2021 Tokoyo Olympics.
