Kim Kardashian Receives Backlash For TikTok Of North Dressed As Kanye
Kim Kardashian and North West’s joint TikTok account has been pretty active since they joined the platform over a year ago. Yesterday (January 5), the mother-daughter duo posted a video of North, 9, dressed up as her rapper father Kanye West. North, who has been showing off her special effects makeup skills on TikTok, shaded around her jawline and hairline to mimic Ye’s face shape, and added a beard and thick eyebrows. To complete the look, she wears an oversized black hoodie and a beanie.
Kim is next to North wearing oversized sunglasses and wraps her arm around her before pouting as Ye’s 2013 song “Bound 2” plays as the post’s audio. Kim famously appeared completely nude while riding a motorcycle in the music video.
Though commenting is turned off for all of Kim and North’s TikTok videos, many turned to Reddit to accuse Kim of being inappropriately sexy next to her young daughter. One person wrote: “It’s highly inappropriate. It would maybe be okay if Kim turned off the sexy for 2 seconds but with it…and the context…just gross and uncomfortable.” Also commenting on Kim’s manner in the video, one person said, “This was funny up until Kim put her arm on North’s shoulder and did a pout.” Another simply commented, “I’m uncomfortable.” One person said, “Things are getting weird guys…” While another agreed and said, “This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen by a large margin.” Another person wrote, “This might not be funny even at Halloween.” One person said of the reality star, “I don’t find this funny at all. It’s disturbing and makes me think even less of Kim which I didn’t think was possible.”
One person said, “If I dressed up as my dad in a music video where he’s practically f—ing my mom on a motorcycle and posted it on the internet…. therapy. I would need therapy.” Another wrote, “To everyone who doesn’t find this disturbing: Imagine you and your mom record a video where you dress up as your dad and your mom dances around you sensually to a song that was playing in the background while they were having s*x.”
