Michael B. Jordan Says Drake Is The GOAT Over Jay-Z & Tupac
Michael B. Jordan’s Creed III opened in theaters last Friday marking his directorial debut. The film took the No. 1 spot in the box office earning $58.7 million which was the biggest opening for a film in the Creed trilogy, but also the biggest domestic opening for a sports movie ever. Those are some impressive numbers. But Jordan might be getting a lot of attention for something that has nothing to do with the film.
He was interviewed by Complex, along with Creed III co-star Jonathan Majors. The actors were asked who they consider the G.O.A.T. of different aspects of entertainment. While they discussed who they thought was the best in each category they eventually get to hip-hop. Majors asks Jordan who is the best between Tupac and Jay-Z. Jordan clearly was struggling to answer. “Listen, y’all,” Jordan joked. “This ain’t cool.”
Majors admitted that it is a difficult choice to choose between two great MCs. Jordan added, “They’re right there,” as he gestured that the two are basically on the same level of greatness. Then, Jordan seemingly decided that Majors’ choices weren’t good enough and went rogue as he answered, “Drake. Fight me.” Majors looked visibly confused responding, “You said Drake?!” Jordan answered, “Fight me!”
“What happened to Pac?” Majors asked.
“Man, consistently, for how long across genres,” Jordan said seemingly referencing Drizzy. Majors added that Tupac’s life was cut short and Jordan explained that’s why he put the California legend in the “untouchable” category. “Great. This is not untouchable talk,” Majors replied. “This is GOAT talk.”
Majors added that Jay-Z is the G.O.A.T. for him while Jordan defended himself adding, “Jay don’t kill me, I love you.”
