Yo Gotti Restaurant Shooting Leaves 2 Dead, 5 Injured
Yo Gotti’s restaurant Prive located in Memphis, Tenn. had a shooting Wednesday night (March 29) that left two dead and five injured police say per local news outlet FOX 8. A police report obtained by the outlet says that the shooting happened at the restaurant a little after closing.
Two male victims were found on the scene. One was pronounced dead, and the other was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Four men and a woman arrived at the hospital by private vehicles. Officials say that the shooting was the result of an altercation inside the restaurant.
A pickup truck was found at the scene with a large bullet hole. Yo Gotti (real name: Mario Sentell Giden Mims) purchased the restaurant for his mother.
Arthur Horne, the owners’ lawyer, said they are devastated. “On behalf of Prive, they’ve been in business for 10 years, and nothing like this has ever happened at their establishment,” he said.
Horne explained that the altercation was between two groups of men. He also contradicted authority reports by adding that the incident did not occur inside the restaurant. “It happened out in the parking lot, and it ended up in a shootout,” he said. “Nothing happened inside the restaurant. Despite any conflicting reports, they were closing, and this happened at the end of the evening in the parking lot.”
