Ashanti Is Pregnant, Expecting First Baby With Nelly: Report
Ashanti is pregnant and will be expecting her first baby with Nelly, according to Us Weekly. “Nelly and Ashanti are welcoming their first baby together,” a source told the publication.
The two sparked pregnancy rumors over the weekend. The couple attended the rapper’s 11th Black and White Ball at the Four Seasons Hotel in his hometown of St. Louis. In a video from the event per TMZ, Ashanti puts her hand over her stomach and Nelly follows by doing the same thing, which made the two burst into laughter on stage. Fans were unsure if it was an inside joke or if the “Rain On Me” singer was pregnant.
This is Ashanti’s first child and Nelly’s third. The “Country Grammar” rapper shares daughter Chanelle, 29, and son Cornell Haynes III, 24, with ex Channetta Valentine.
Ashanti and Nelly previously dated from 2003 to 2013, on and off. They sparked romance rumors back in April when they were spotted in Las Vegas. The two attended the sold-out Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia boxing match at T-Mobile Arena. The rapper and singer were seen holding hands in video footage captured after the fight.
Ashanti & Nelly Speak On Their Relationship
Another source told ET, “Nelly and Ashanti are really enjoying their time together,” when asked if the two were official.
Back in February, Nelly spoke to the outlet about how they repaired their relationship.
“Time does wonders for a lot of different things,” he told ET. “And time is one those things that allows you time to reflect on what’s what, and you get a chance to see things in a different light and see your faults. So I think we both did that and it’s cool that we just friends.”
