Oreo Dessert Specials Are Taking Over
Oreo cookies are strong enough on their own to be a solid dessert option. It seems at this time, Oreo specials are taking over dessert menus everywhere, and we should all be OK with that.
Oreos have something very important in common with chocolate chip cookies. They don’t need any help. Though both are in the cookie family, it’s fair to asses them as two very different styles. Enthusiasts of both cookies are typically very content with a handful of this each cookie on its own. However, if you chop them up and then add them to another dessert item, more times than not, it only enhances it. Oreo crumbs or chopped Oreo pieces added to ice cream or a shake bring it to another level of dessert delight. The same holds true for chocolate chip cookies. In fact, you can even argue this option is even more flexible, given it can be in the form of chocolate chip cookie dough.
After receiving a flurry of Oreo-flavored special promotions over the weekend, I wondered if it was a coincidence or if Oreos are just everywhere right now. Here is what I found.
Oreo Specials Available Now To Be Aware Of
MSN recently detailed that “Sonic Has 2 New Treats In Collaboration with Oreo.” There’s the Oreo Big Scoop Cheesecake Sundae and the Oreo Big Scoop Cheesecake Blast. The latter is a soft-served-based treat.
As we know, Oreo often releases special flavors on their own. We’ve seen pumpkin, birthday cake, dirt cake, and maple cream flavors hit the shelves at stores across the country. Now, we have the Oreo Space Dunk cookies.
“In January, Oreo released its limited-edition flavor, which comes stuffed with layers of blue and pink ‘cosmic creme,’ which it described as a ‘marshmallowy flavor,’ along with popping candies baked right in to create a ‘supernova bursting sensation with each bite,'” Food and Wine explained. This was to be in conjunction with the solar eclipse.
In fact, Space.com shared a statement by Michelle Deignan, vice president of Oreo, U.S. Deignan said, “Oreo cookies are all about transporting fans to a place full of excitement and childlike curiosity.” The packaging of the Space Dunk Oreo matches the cookie itself with bright pink and blue branding.
Other Oreo specials going on right now to be aware of include Rita’s Italian Ice offering two new Oreo-infused treats. Lastly, this is the unlikely pairing we didn’t know we needed. Oreos and Sour Patch Kids have teamed up for a sandwich cookie.
“The cookies are actually Sour Patch Kids flavored with colorful inclusions,” DailyMail explained. This special Oreo collaboration even includes merch options that fans can buy.
