Most Dangerous Nevada Prisoners Moving Closer To Las Vegas
It seems like everyone is moving to the Las Vegas area. Californians are moving here in droves and sure we like to complain, but it’s not all that bad. Especially not bad when you consider that the most dangerous Nevada prisoners are about to relocate to just outside of the valley. Joy.
Yes, in what is the worst trade since Babe Ruth was sent to the New York Yankees for $100,000, the state of Nevada has decided to swap the designations of two prisons in the state. High Desert State Prison is going to become the state’s maximum security prison, meanwhile Ely State Prison will become a medium security prison.
How Do You Move The Most Dangerous Nevada Prisoners?
Moving sucks. You could break something. Moving hundreds of the most dangerous Nevada prisoners? You could break society. So they want to make sure to get this right. After all, High Desert State Prison is only around 25 miles from the border of the Las Vegas valley.
High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs will be taking in as many as 700 maximum security offenders, the worst of the worst. That’s a massive bump up! Thankfully as part of the process, HDSP will be sending upwards of 1400 “less dangerous” prisoners up to Ely State Prison.
By doing this, the number of offenders at High Desert will be fewer, and therefore the staff will have a better ratio and be able to take better care (and keep better watch) of their prisoners.
God knows they’ll need the help. Two years ago a guy broke out of the place using lotion and electricity to break out of big house and nearly escape on a bus to Mexico. Plus just this Tuesday someone got one fence away from breaking out. Not to mention all of the fights that have gone down at the venue.
Hello to our new neighbors. Please don’t come by and ask for sugar. Thanks.
