Daniel Kaluuya Not Returning for ‘Black Panther 2’
Daniel Kaluuya will not be reprising his role as W’Kabi in Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Variety has reported.
W’Kabi was the best friend to the late Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa and the head of security for the Border Tribe.
Sources told the outlet the reason behind Kaluuya not returning to Wakanda was due to scheduling conflicts: he was shooting Jordan Peele’s upcoming horror film Nope when Wakanda Forever was shooting. Kaluuya got his first Oscar nom in Peele’s Oscar-winning film Get Out back in 2017. Nope is out July 21.
Production on the Ryan Coogler-directed film wrapped in March. Wakanda Forever is set to debut on Nov. 11.
