Billie Joe Armstrong Says He Hates Las Vegas In Rant
What an American Idiot. The front man of elder punk rockers Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, decided to kick off his show in his homeland of the Bay Area in California in a loving rant for his home area, and a brutal jab at Las Vegas?! Wait, what? What’d we do?
Billie Joe Armstrong Lets It Rip On Las Vegas
“We are East Bay. East Bay for life,” Armstrong exclaimed. Alright, fine start! He is expressing his love for his fair city, and to that we applaud the man.
“Forever! Green Day! East Bay! Forever! Can you feel me?” If there was any doubt, now we know. Green Day, East Bay, forever. You got it, champ.
“We don’t take no s*** from people like (Oakland Athletics owner) John f******* Fisher who is selling out the Oakland A’s to Las f****** Vegas!”
Well then. Let’s break this apart. John Fisher, owner of the Oakland A’s, well known as one of the worst owners in all of sports. Hell, even Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis hates him.
However, Las “f******” Vegas? That seems quite aggressive. But hey, this is Green Day. 52 year old Billie Joe Armstrong is punk rock. He just played Fremont Country Club in a secret show last year. He’s just being a little edgy.
“I f****** hate Las Vegas! It’s the worst s***hole in America,” Armstrong said with a smirk.
Well, that’s a bit harsh. Sure, we’ve got our problems. But gosh. But leave it up to someone who grew up in the Bay Area to lean on (verbally) defecating in public.
Hey, Billie Joe! How about you take a hike, pound sand, take your business elsewhere and mind your beeswax! Get outta dodge, ya rascal scooter driver! (Actually, the band is about to take their tour out of the country, so good riddance!)
We get it. We’d be pissed too if another city got our sloppy seconds again and again. But we find the Bay Area to be quite lovely. Maybe we can steal the Golden Gate Bridge next. That’d look nice over Lake Mead.
