Nancy Wilson Passes Away at 81
Songstress Nancy Wilson passed away at her home in Pioneertown, California, late Thursday night, at the age of 81 . She had been ill for sometime. Nancy’s heyday as a vocalist was in the mid 60’s and her 1964 hit “How Glad I Am” won her a Grammy award in 1965 for “Best R & B Performance by a Female.” She was also known for the song “Guess Who I Saw Today.” She had a long career as a singer and as an actress and she retired from touring in 2011. Nancy is survived by a son, two daughters, two sisters and five grandchildren. A statement from her family said that according to her wishes, there’ll be no funeral. Her family is contemplating a celebration of her life in February. Her birthday would’ve been February 20.
