‘Happy Birthday’ wishes poured in today for actor, comedian, and former SNL cast member Mike Myers as he turned 60.

Having appeared on several Canadian television shows, Mike Myers secured a spot on Saturday Night Live and became a household name during his six-year run as one of the funniest cast members of the 90s.
To even his own surprise, the feature length film based off of one of his characters (Wayne Campbell), ‘Wayne’s World‘ was a huge success at the box office and set him up for superstardom.
Myers would go on to star in three ‘Austin Powers’ movies between 1997 and 2002 playing not only the title character but iconic villains like Dr. Evil and Fat Bastard who both provided us with memorable catch-phases and funny lines.
Myers is considered somewhat of a ‘master-of-disguise’ transforming himself into unique and often over-the-top characters. He is nearly unrecognizable at first glance in his latest project, a TV mini series titled ‘The Pentaverate‘ released last year on Netflix.
It’s been 22 years since Myers made his debut as the voice of a green swamp-dwelling ogre named ‘Shrek‘ and with multiple sequels and holiday specials, fans are enthusiastically waiting for a fifth installment which has been teased and rumored for years.
Last year, Mike Myers sat down with GQ and spoke on some of these same iconic characters.
1993’s ‘So I Married An Axe Murderer‘ was a cult favorite and showcased Myers‘ ability to play multiple roles (Charlie Mackenzie and Stuart Mackenzie). Lines from the living room scene like, “Heed, move!” spoken by the Stuart Mackenzie character are still often quoted by fans to this day.
