What? No more panic?

The Las Vegas-born pop rock band Panic! at the Disco is breaking up, lead singer Brendon Urie announced this week.

Lots of cool bands from Las Vegas (see below) – Panic! at the Disco is definitely one of them.

In a post to Instagram, Urie wrote that he and his wife, Sarah, are expecting a baby. He called the experience humbling and exciting and said he “looks forward to this next adventure.

Urie began, “Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way.” “But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin.”

“That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more,” he wrote. The band’s tour through Europe and the United Kingdom this year will be the last run, according to Urie.

Panic! at the Disco released its debut album, “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” in 2005. It gave us the great song “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” It went triple platinum. I remember playing “Sins” for my day – a musician from the Big Band, Doo-Wop, three part harmony era. “My dad said: “I dig this sound, and arrangement!”

The band’s membership experienced several shake-ups over the years, and  Brendon Urie became the only original band member remaining by 2016, from which point he referred to Panic! as a “solo project.”

Panic! At The Disco’s final studio album, “Viva Las Vengeance,” was released last year.

Along with Panic! these bands are also from Las Vegas.
