Jon Gruden apparently didn’t want Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski playing for his Las Vegas Raiders a few years ago. UFC commissioner Dana White told Rob Gronkowski and The Gronks that he orchestrated a deal for the Raiders to sign Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. The blockbuster deal would have been one of the biggest in NFL history. But Jon Gruden apparently said no and refused to make the deal a reality. A missed opportunity by the since-fired Gruden. Raiders owner Mark Davis’ memory seems to be a bit hazy on the situation. Davis told the Las Vegas Review Journal “That was what , two or three years ago or something? I don’t know, man. Talk to Dana. I remember that Tom Brady went to Tampa Bay. That’s basically what I remember.”
There’s a lot of comments stirring up about the possibility of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski becoming apart of Raider nation. I personally agree with Jon Grudens decision. Derek Carr is doing a great job and it would have sent a message that there’s no confidence in Carr’s ability to win. Plus Brady probably has what, 1 maybe 2 more good years left, what would the Raiders do after that? Rob Gronkowski is undeniably a beast and would truly add to any franchise but again if it’s not broken don’t try and fix it. Darren Waller is also a beast. if he can stay healthy he would give the Raiders what they need in that tight end position. I believe the Raiders has the best core 4 in the NFL . Derek Carr, Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller and not to mention Hunter Renfrow.
