DJ Khaled Partners With Organization To Donate 10,000 Masks and Gloves To Health Care Workers
Many hospitals nationwide are short of supplies due to the COVID-19 outbreak that has ravaged the globe. To assist efforts in Miami and New York City, DJ Khaled and his wife, Nicole Tuck, have partnered with Direct Relief and online retailer Simplehuman to help health care professionals garner supplies that are necessary through the couple’s We the Best Foundation.
DJ Khaled’s efforts will provide over 10,000 masks, gloves, and dozens of PPE kits to health care professionals, as Good Morning America reports. Sanitizer and thousands of hands-free soap dispensers will be distributed to communities across the nation by Simplehuman, which starts April 1.
“Helping our local community when and where we can has always been our mission since we started the We The Best Foundation back in 2018,” Khaled told PR Newswire. “By partnering with Direct Relief, Nicole and I are able to reach the medical staff who are most at risk in local hospitals in New York and Miami. It’s important to us to take care of those who take care of us.”
Designer Galareh Mizrahi, a friend of Khaled and Tuck, inspired the couple to help because she has a brother who works at hospital in Brooklyn, New York. There are over 66,400 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state of New York, as of Tuesday morning with over 6,300 cases in Florida.
