So many of us dwell on the past, and that distracts us from our goals ahead. If you focus more on where you are going and less on where you’ve been you’ll find it easier to reach your destination. At a young age, I was incarcerated for hanging out with the wrong crowds. I was the first in my family to go to jail, which made me feel disowned. I often dwelled on my situation which hindered me from progressing in what I was designed to do.  Now growing into my skin, I’ve learned my past does not define my future. I glance in the rearview only to remind me where I’ve been so I won’t go back. My future continues to look bright because I’m focusing on where I’m going.
