CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - SEPTEMBER 16: A view of a Grammy statue during a performance at the Chicago Chapter 60th Anniversary Concert at Millennium Park on September 16, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Recording Academy is probably to postpone the 64th annual Grammy Awards, originally set for January 31 at Arena in Los Angeles, according to a report in Billboard. They quote a source with “direct knowledge” who says it’s “looking likely.”

This would be the second year in a row that the Grammys have been postponed due to COVID-19. Last year’s show was originally set for January 31, 2021, but on January 5, it was delayed to March 14 due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles. At that time, the show was also relocated from Staples Center (which is what the Arena was called at the time) to the nearby Los Angeles Convention Center, which allowed for less crowding.

The Daily Show host Trevor Noah, who hosted last year, is also scheduled to host this year.
