Sean “Diddy” Combs confirmed at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last night (March 27) that Chris Rock and Will Smith moved past their altercation during the awards show. After Rock, 57, made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia, Will, 53, walked his way up on stage and slapped Chris Rock across the face. Will screamed from his seat at the comedian, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f—ing mouth!”
Diddy, 52, who was in attendance with his daughter at the Oscars told Page Six said about the beef, “That’s not a problem. That’s over. I can confirm that. It’s all love. They’re brothers.”
Diddy also took to his Instagram Stories last night to talk about the slap itself saying, “I know s— is crazy. S— happens sometimes. My n—- Chris Rock got a chin, though. I know nobody thinking what I’m thinking: he got a chin.”
A source told Page Six that Will and Chris had arranged to work out their issues after the Academy Awards — during which the King Richard star apologized to everyone except Rock while accepting his Best Actor award.
“I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to all of my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment, and I’m not crying for winning an award,” Smith said. “It’s not about winning an award for me; it’s about being able to shine a light on all of the people.”
Following the Oscars, Smith attended the Vanity Fair party with his family and danced the night away, unfazed by the drama that ensued hours earlier. The actor was seen dancing and rapping along to his ’90s hits “Summertime,” “Miami” and “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It.” Jada, 50, was by Smith’s side dancing along with their kids, Jaden, 23, and Willow, 21.
“And that’s how we do it,” Jaden wrote on Twitter.
