LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MAY 15: Host Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs performs onstage during the 2022 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 15, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Diddy is clarifying his “R&B is dead” comment that took Twitter by storm last week.

Last week, the rap mogul tweeted out, “Who killed R&B?” and then further elaborated in a heated Instagram Live with Timbaland. The iconic producer couldn’t get a word in in the conversation with Diddy as the rapper began to explain his question.

“R&B is muthaf—in’ dead as of right now,” The Bad Boy Records founder stated. “The R&B I made my babies to? R&B gotta be judged to a certain thing — it’s the feeling though, doggy. No, no, no. It’s a feeling. You gotta be able to sing for R&B and then you gotta tell the truth. R&B is not a hustle. This s— is about feeling your vulnerability.”

“You gotta muthaf—in make a n—- d— hard or a woman’s vagina wet. You gotta cry,” Diddy added, “You gotta be able to get your girl back. I don’t wanna hear all this bulls— […] It’s our fault for accepting anything less for anybody getting on a mic. I feel like there was a death of R&B singing, and I’m a part of bringing that s— back! I ain’t feelin’ no emotions.”

After several R&B artists and fans began to weigh in on Diddy’s comments, the rapper tweeted out that his question was not supposed to insult anyone. “It’s been 3 days of the debate…This is the clarity of the message…It’s not disrespect to anybody.”
