Kelze Howard Talks Oregon State With DJ Thump
Morning show host, DJ Thump sits down with newly recruited Spring Valley High School, Grizzly, Kelze Howard to talk about his recent successes pre-college.
Howard is a born and raised Las Vegan who has been preparing for his future since he was in diapers. He is well versed in many professions such as being a gospel rapper, basketball player and wrestler but his true passion lies else where.
His academic career is dedicated to playing America‘s favorite sport, football. The 6’ 5″ four-star athlete plays DE (defensive ends) and T (tackle) for his local high school.
According to MaxPreps.com, Howard’s 2022-2023 senior stats are: 41 solo tackles, 64 total tackles, 5.8 tackles per game, 12 sacks, 2.5 caused fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. Playing four years of football has shaped Howard into the strong and confident young man that he is today. Howard is the number two player in the state of Nevada and number 24 in the county in his position.
On July 1, 2022, Howard made a life-changing full time commitment to Oregon State. “Go Beavs!” Over 47 colleges like USC, Arizona State and San Diego State were recruiting for the hard-working sportsman. The big lights hasn’t distracted Howard from his goals. “Through all of it, I gotta just stay humble” Howard said. “Put my pride aside and just keep on pushing. Don’t ever like get too big to not work hard.”
He chose Oregon State because he feels that they offer a great program that really helps develop their freshman recruits.
Defensive Line Coach, Legi Suiaunoa, recruited the player to help “build the damn.” Suiaunoa is a former Nevada Wolf Pack alma mater. According to 247Sports.com, his average rating is a 86.98 and he is nationally ranked at 114.
Howard is following his dreams to the fullest. His advice for future athletes would be, “Always believe in your ability to do something.”
We are very proud of Kelze Howard and can’t wait to see where his future will take him.
