Las Vegas Aces Ends Another Winning Streak
The defending champions Las Vegas Aces are on a roll. The Aces current 13-game home winning streak is tied for the longest in franchise history. The streak of 13 straight home wins has been accomplished 18 times in WNBA history, and the record is 28 by the Sparks in 2000-02.
It was the seventh straight win for the Aces, averaging nearly 93 points a game. All five of the Las Vegas starters scored in double figures, with A’ja Wilson scoring 16 while Candace Parker and Jackie Young each added 15. Chelsea Gray had 14 points and six assists, with a few highlight moments.
New York trailed 49-42 at the half, but Las Vegas scored the first 11 points of the third quarter to change the momentum the game and extended the lead to 18. It was a busy week for the Liberty, they had an overtime win against Washington on Sunday and beat Connecticut on the road on Tuesday before traveling all day Wednesday to get to Las Vegas for Thursday night’s game.
The Liberty, who had their four game winning streak snapped, didn’t get within single digits . The teams will play three more times in the regular season.
