2024 NBA Draft Round-Up: Best Picks And Positions
The 2024 NBA draft happening soon and it’s time to predict who is going where. Some sleepers, and some possible busts. Although this isn’t the most intriguing draft or one with a lot of superstar talent, it’s always a fun time to find a diamond in the rough.
NBA Draft High-Level Players By Position
There is no Victor Wembanyama but maybe we will find someone by season’s end who stood out. We do have Bronny James though who won’t be a top pick but probably has the biggest buzz as to where he may go. Now these are my personal opinions, so these players could go anywhere. But these are the guys I have noticed and their potential. I’m going to name a couple of players I think are high-level by position.
Point Guards: Rob Dillingham from Kentucky averaged 15 ppg and is a great 3-point shooter. According to Wildcatbluenation.com, “his talent has given him a lottery projection for the upcoming draft, even as high as No. 8 overall.” 24/7 Sports calls Isaiah Collier one of the best passers and most talented point guards in the draft. He’s the leader of the USC Trojans team which includes Bronny James. Then there’s Devin Carter from Providence, the big point guard who averages 20 points per game. I feel these are the three to watch and will be picked very early.
Shooting Guards: Stephon Castle the 6′-6″ 180 lb shooting guard from the two-time defending NCAA Champions UConn Huskies is a force to be reckoned with. Also, Reed Sheppard from Kentucky and Dalton Knecht from Tennessee should all hear their names called within the 1st 10 picks. These guys can flat-out ball.
A Few Sleepers To Look Out For In The NBA Draft
A Sleeper shooting guard I have to mention is Terrance Shannon Jr. and at 6’6″ he has the size to be great. He also averaged 23 points per game in college and was one of the most athletic guys I have seen this season. His stock dropped a little due to an alleged rape case in which he was acquitted. The accused lied and tried to set him up.
He was considered a top 10 pick in the NBA Draft, and now many have him around 20. I hate that it happened to him but the truth came out, and with this finally behind him, he can focus on his NBA career.
Small Forwards: Zacharie Risacher from France should be the #1 player off the board hands down. He’s 6’9″ and just turned 20. Matas Buzelis from the G-League Ignite team and Kyshawn George from Miami are my sleeper guys who should hear their names called early in the 1st round.
Power Forwards: Duke’s Kyle Flipowski and Tyler Smith are pretty good but with the NBA being more open and not as physical, the PF position might not see many greats come from this draft.
Center: Alex Starr 7’1″ and Donovan Clingan 7’2″ are mountains and they both could be drafted in the top five. Zach Edey has one of the best college careers ever and at 7’4″ and 300 pounds he can bring back the big men like Shaq to the NBA and be dominant.

Last but not least there is Bronny James. We all know he wants to play with his father. The Lakers have pick 17 and pick 55. I see him going pick 55 to the Lakers and having a dream fulfilled. Hopefully, he can become a star and pray he does not have any setbacks from the heart condition he suffered from in college. The 2024 NBA DRaft begins June 26, and a lot of kids’ dreams will become reality, so tune in!
