Blaque Tacos Are Causing A Strong Local Meltdown
Blaque Tacos started in 2017. When a man named Kenny Blaque had a court order for community service, he went to 2nd Chance W.I.N.G.S., located at 2815 W Lake Mead Blvd. in North Las Vegas to complete his hours. What was meant for punishment turned into a community love story. Blaque went and obtained all of his necessary paperwork, and created a way to help feed the community. First feeding local students in Las Vegas, then employing them.
Blaque Tacos And Blaque Ice
Not only does Blaque Tacos have some of the best tacos in Las Vegas, They continue to give back to the community. Approximately 80% of donations go towards feeding and educating our youth on the Historic Westside, according to blaquetacos.org.
Now that the weather has truly made it almost impossible to do anything outside comfortably, Blaque decided to add Shaved ice to the menu. Offering flavors such as Watermelon, Pina Colada, Orange, and Coconut, just to name a few. I felt like a kid again so I created what we used to call a “suicide”, a mixture of multiple flavors.

Even more impressive, They make their own ice to shave. Kenny is also teaching young people how to work and be responsible, all the while making it fun. If you see one of Kenny’s Blaque Tacos pop-ups around Las Vegas, make sure you get some good food and great-tasting shaved Ice. Help the kids in the community learn life skills while also learning how to serve.
Eating Cold food In Hot Weather Does Not Cool Your Body Temperature
Contrary to popular belief, Ice Cream amongst other cold treats may taste good, and satisfying on a hot Las Vegas day, but it does not cool your body temperature. According to Timesofindia.com, “While ice cream might provide a momentary relief by reducing the temperature in our mouth, it does not directly cool down our core body temperature.” But I have to admit, Blaque’s Tacos and Shaved Ice is a pallet pleaser for any type of weather.
