West Henderson Approves $70M Indoor Sports Complex and Family Recreation Center Opening in 2026
This two-story complex combines sports facilities with family entertainment. The four convertible basketball courts turn into eight volleyball courts, while the two synthetic turf fields welcome soccer and flag football. Both kids and grown-ups can enjoy bowling, axe-throwing, arcade games, laser tag areas, and outdoor mini-golf courses.
Residents can host a birthday party at the facility’s multipurpose event spaces. Young athletes can participate in programs, camps, and training clinics. Parents can exercise while kids play in supervised areas. A full-service food and beverage area will offer meals and refreshments.
Funding for the West Henderson sports complex comes from the Public Infrastructure Bond Sale, West Henderson Development Fund, and City Municipal Facilities Fund, with KemperSports contributing $10 million toward the estimated cost of $70 million.
This balanced approach keeps local taxes unchanged. Instead of facing a financial burden, Henderson residents get a 20% discount on event programming and activities at the new facility.
Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors will spearhead the project’s design and construction.
Once opened, the city will partner with KemperSports to handle operations. This significant milestone will enhance community involvement in the growing West Henderson area.
