Nicki Minaj Drops ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeze’ Music Video
Nicki Minaj took it back to her Trinidad roots with her visual for “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” The Queens native gave fans an early Mother’s Day (May 14) gift by posting a clip of the music video on Instagram.
“There’s now a full #RedRubyDaSleeze video on YOUTUBE!!!! It’ll be everywhere else next week. Happy early MOTHER’S DAY,” she wrote in the caption.
The music video finds Nicki showing off her curves in a black swimsuit where she raps on a balcony overlooking the ocean. In other scenes, she is wearing a “red ruby”- colored silk robe. In other footage, she is seen linking up with Basketball Wives star Brooke Bailey as they cruise the island’s city streets.
“Red Ruby da Sleeze,” which debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March, interlopes Lumidee’s 2003 hit “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh).” Nicki is no stranger to flipping classics. Last year, she got her first Hot 100 No. 1 solo hit with “Super Freaky Girl,” which sampled Rick James’ 1981 song “Super Freak.”
