Whoever said chivalry was dead obviously didn’t know about the Clark County Parks and Recreation‘s annual “Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival“. Sunset Park will once again be transformed into a medieval kingdom filled with costumed knights, members of the royal court, and wenches.
This all-ages event will run Oct. 7 – 9 and feature more than 50 shows per day. Enjoy historical re-enactments, full-contact jousting tournaments, gladiator battles, magicians, jugglers, flame eaters, belly dancers, strolling minstrels, as well as trained parrots and pirates.
The medieval pageantry includes a royal parade with kings, queens, warriors, and peasants. Attractions include rides, bow & arrow and axe targets, wood workers, and stone carvers.
There are a number of stages hosting concerts and entertainment from local and nationally recognized acts (see below).
Over 100 artisans showcase and sell their wares, from blacksmiths and jewelers to toy makers and sword craftsmen. Enjoy authentic food such as fish & chips to a complete English feast. There will be plenty of beer and ales for adults with proper identification.
There will be limited parking available at Sunset Park. Overflow parking will be held at Del Sol High School located at 3100 E Patrick Lane as well as Cannon Middle School located at 5850 Euclid Street with shuttles servicing the festival.
