Young Boy Receives Pair Of Shoes From Stanger In Line
It’s very rare to share a story that brings positive energy and hope. Well DJ Thump witnessed something that may have changed a young mans life. While waiting in line to exchange some shoes a man overheard a young boy ask his grandmother could she buy him these really cool looking shoes. The grandmother responded, “sorry baby we can’t get those today, maybe next time.” He looked devastated. She noticed how hurt he was and tried to cheer him up by asking him to tell her a joke. and like magic he snapped out of his mood and told her a joke (but still having a tight grip on those shoes with hope in his eyes.) everyone in the line chuckled. The man in front of the young boy and his grandmother turned and asked her grandson, “what do you call a deer with no eyes?” The young man looked puzzled and looked at his grandmother hoping she could answer. After about 30 seconds the man said…”I have no eye deer” Her grandson smiled but still had disappointment in his eyes and those shoes in a tight grip. The man then asked him how was he doing in school, the young man answered, “fine.” then the man said I am going to ask you a question and if you answer this question correctly I will buy those shoes for you. The young scholar looked at his grandmother and she said you better get it right.
The question was… Name three states that start with the letter “M.” The young man looked puzzled yet hopeful and said… Mexico? The man said well you tried! and since you tried, c’mon I am going to buy those shoes for you. The young child lit up like a Christmas tree. The grandmother said thank you so much. It has really been rough, being that his mother died from COVID-19 earlier this year and they have really been struggling. The boy sat on the floor and put his new shoes on and had a smile that could light up an entire room. The point of this story is, paying things forward could change someone’s life. Someone might forget what you’ve told them, but they will never forget the way you made them feel. That young man will never forget the way that gentleman made him feel. It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.
