We’re constantly named “the best party town.” But, now Las Vegas has a new title as one of the “best college towns in America.”
WalletHub published a list of the best college towns in America, and three cities in Nevada made this list.
Coming at #155 is Henderson, Nevada!
Nevada State College is the only four-year, comprehensive public institution in Nevada, according to the school’s website. The school is located in Henderson. But, people who live in Henderson can still attend the University of Nevada Las Vegas, the College of Southern Nevada and other private universities located near the city.
Henderson is a lovely suburb that give you a break from the wild nature of the Las Vegas Strip. But, you’re still a short drive away from the city’s activities.
The next “highest-ranked” city is no other than Las Vegas, which came in at #45 on the list. Yes. We did it! We’re finally getting recognition for something other than partying! Well, this is slightly true. Because, what made Las Vegas earn a top spot on the list was our social scene.
And let’s face it: Las Vegas is one of the best places to be as a young adult. Although there is a lack of public infrastructure such as a transportation system, Las Vegas offers a plethora of economic opportunities that can financially help any “broke” college student.
University of Nevada Las Vegas is a top-tier research university in the West with renowned programs from academic to athletic. So, Las Vegas attracts many eager students who are looking to make it.
Now, the Nevada city that gained the highest placement in terms of best college towns is Reno!
Reno placed 29th on the list of “Best College Towns in America.”
It’s constantly named as one of the “best places” to live in America, offering the allure of Las Vegas with four seasons and cheaper prices.
The University of Nevada, Reno is a great school with a wide array of programs that can suit any educational need. The city is quaint, yet still busy. The nature and seasons add a magical touch to this high-desert city.
