Nevada: This is the Richest Small Town in the State
When it comes to being name the best this or that, why should the big cities get all the fun? I personally love America’s small towns, and I enjoy seeing them get praise and fanfare. Now, one town has been named the richest small town in Nevada. Okay, that’s not really making a “best-of” list, but it’s still very interesting.
GoBankingRates has released a new study naming the richest small towns in America. “When you think of richest locations in the U.S., places like San Francisco, New York and Beverly Hills might come to mind,” they mention in the study. “But prosperity and affluence aren’t only thriving among the glitz and glamour of big cities. Instead, pockets of wealth can be found in the nation’s quieter communities and small towns. And for some, living in a small town can be the best financial decision ever.”
To conduct this research, GOBankingRates analyzed U.S. Census Bureau income data in locations in every state with 500 to 15,000 households to figure out the richest small towns in America. Then, they ranked them from lowest to highest income. The one state they didn’t include was Alaska, because of a lack of sufficient data.
So, what’s the richest small town in Nevada? That honor goes to Mogul, where the median income is $133,343. Mogul is located in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. It’s on the western side of the Reno–Sparks Metropolitan Statistical Area, right off Interstate 80. It’s known for being home to many wealthy people, so this isn’t a huge surprise. Still, it’s interesting to find out that, yes, Fox Chapel is the richest small town in the state. Find the full list of the richest small towns in America via GoBankingRates here.
