Aces To Visit White House
The honors and accolades continue to pile up for our defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces.
The White House announced on Monday that the Aces have been invited to the President’s residence to celebrate their 2022 championship with President Biden and the First Lady. The Aces will make their visit on Friday, August 25 and then play the Washington Mystics the next day in D.C.
The visit to the White House will come weeks after Aces’ head coach Becky Hammon gets inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on August 12. Enshrinement weekend starts August 11.
This past weekend in Las Vegas saw the city host the WNBA All-Star Game in which the Aces were heavily represented. A’ja Wilson, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray were on the squad coached by Hammon and Kelsey Plum was on the other squad. Ironically it was Plum who showed out, scoring 30 points and helping to lead Team Stewart to a 143-127 win over Team Wilson.
The Aces will continue the regular season on Thursday, July 20 when they travel to Seattle to play the Storm at 7pm and then move on to Minnesota to play the Lynx on Saturday, July 22 at 12 noon PDT. Vegas continues the road trip on Tuesday, July 25 in Chicago against the Sky before returning home on Sunday, July 30 at 3pm at Michelob Ultra Arena to play Dallas.
The Aces are looking to repeat as WNBA champs and are firmly in control of their destiny as they have the best record in the league at 19-2 and are undefeated at home. Vegas is on a three game winning streak headed into Thursday’s game at Seattle.
