The Best NFL Teams Who Can Destroy The Chiefs
Is there any team in the NFL who can destroy the Chiefs? I’m talking about the two-time defending champions. When you think of Super Bowl wins, somehow you can’t help but think of the Kansas City Chiefs. Led by the coach-QB combo of Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. According to Statmuse.com, Kansas City has made four Super Bowl trips in five years from 2020-24. In that time, Mahomes has earned three victories, claiming their second consecutive title in their defeat of the 49ers in Super Bowl 58 here in Las Vegas.
Can The Chiefs Be Dethroned By Another NFL Team?
Could this be the luck of the draw, or are the Chiefs really that good? I have picked a few teams who I believe can dethrone the Chiefs this year. And let me make this perfectly clear, I am a huge Raider fan, but a bigger fan of reality, so these predictions are nearly based on my observation of how each team has played and what new weapons these teams have to beat the Chiefs.
#5 – The Browns
DeShawn Watson has to get back to that top-level quarterback he once was in his career. And if the Browns’ defense stays as good as they were this past year, they have the weapons to stop the Chiefs. Amari Cooper is another year older and a lot of question marks here, but I didn’t want to discount that the Browns at their best have the roster that is good enough to take out Kansas City in a playoff format.
#4 – The Detroit Lions
The Lions beat the Chiefs in week one of the season. A lot of young guys that are only getting better, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Panei Sewell, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Sam Laporta at the TE position are a ton of young talent that’s only getting better. Remember, they were just in the NFC championship this past year and If they had let the kicker do his job, I believe they would’ve made it to the circle and beat the Chiefs.
#3 – The Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles were just in the Super Bowl two years ago. And at this point, they have an elite-level roster, Jalen Hurts, in my opinion, outplayed Mahomes in that Super Bowl. I would say they at least played at the same level. This isn’t something you commonly see with Patrick Holmes in any NFL game let alone a Super Bowl.
I still think that they have a top five set of guys in the NFL coming back: Jalen Hurts, AJ brown, and DeVonta Smith, and they still will have a great offensive line. This is a team that started 10-1 before breaking down, while Jalen was playing with an injury, they beat the Kansas City Chiefs when everybody was saying that the Eagles were slumping and not playing their best football.
#2 – The Houston Texans
The Texans have a young and exciting roster led by C.J. Stroud on offense and Derrick Stingley on defense. And with an addition of all-pro wide-receiver Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills, they have the roster to compete for a championship this year after a deep run last year. Expectations are very high for the Texans, but they have to prove they are ready for the moment and beat their AFC rivals The Kansas City Chiefs.
#1 – The San Francisco 49ers
And that leads me to the team that faced the Chiefs twice in two of the last four Super Bowls. The 49ers led both games including a 15-point meltdown in the fourth quarter of the first Super Bowl match-up. With an aging roster, the 49ers are in a must-win mode with their core players each over the age of 30. Brock Purdy has what it takes to win, however, you can not afford to put the ball in Patrick Mahomes’ hand in the last possession of the game. A costly mistake that haunted them twice. Let’s hope three times is a charm because the Chiefs are beatable. And karma is not that mean!
