Cop Who Arrested Justin Timberlake Didnât Know Who He Was
Justin Timberlakeâs Hamptons DWI arrest has some more embarrassing details. As we reported, the âRock Your Bodyâ singer was arrested on DWI charges after having dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. He was pulled over after leaving the establishment to drive to his friendâs house.
According to Page Six, the father of two refused to take a breathalyzer test when police pulled him over. Sources told the publication that there were âcops stationed outside where he was having dinner.â After JT left, police pulled him over for a traffic violation initially.
As we reported, a police officer saw his 2025 BMW drive through a stop sign and âfail to keep on the right side of the roadway.â The officer said the former boy-banderâs âeyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.â
Timberlake reportedly told authorities he would not do âa chemical testâ to determine his blood-alcohol level once he got to the police station. âI had one martini, and I followed my friends home,â he said, according to the report.

Page Sixâs source said Timberlakeâs friends were pleading with the cops to let him go. Sources say he took a field sobriety test but ârefusedâ a breathalyzer test. The cop who pulled Timberlake over âwas so young that he didnât even knowâ who the 10-time Grammy winner was. âHe didnât recognize him or his name,â the insider said.
Another source added that âJustin said under his breath, âThis is going to ruin the tour.â The cop replied, âWhat tour?â Justin said, âThe world tour.ââ
Folks had a field day on social media, making fun of Justin in a number of ways, especially with what his field sobriety test would look like. One person said, âSaying âthis is going to ruin the tourâ after every minor inconvenience I have from now on.â Added another: âThis had to have been the funniest thing to have ever happened without being witnessed by the public.â A third added: âThereâs a deep satisfaction I get when people donât recognize a celebrity and they realize theyâre washed up.â Another slammed: âdude has one (1) show 31 miles outside the US and heâs calling it a world tour bffr.â
JT has since been released. In a statement shared by police, the pop icon was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two citations: one for running a stop sign and one for failure to keep in lane. Justinâs lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., said in a statement to Deadline that he âwill have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorneyâs office.â
