College Football 25 Makes Its Ultimate Return
College Football 25, It’s Back! It’s that time again. It has been 11 years since College Football on video game consoles was a thing—a long 11 years. Many fans today still play NCAA Football 14 as in 2014 on the PlayStation 4 console. Now we are on the newer PlayStation 5 console getting a brand new much anticipated College game with College Football 25.
College Football 25 Is Making Its Long-Awaited Return To The Video Consoles
Today is the early preorder release date, and the 19th is the official release date. But let’s talk about how we got here today.
They say money is the root of all evil and due to a lawsuit filed by Charles and Ed Obannon about Names, Images, and Likeness or NIL being used in video games developers begin taking college games off the shelf.

They wanted to get paid for the big companies making tons of money off of college athletes but the athletes were getting nothing. EA Sports and 2K decided it was best to stop making the game instead of losing more money. My cousin Darius Rice former NBA player and also College athlete for the Miami Hurricanes who was portrayed in the March Madness 2000-2004 video games had different thoughts on it. “I personally would have preferred keeping the video game. The small check they gave me was not worth ending the best sports game franchise in the world. I hate that they filed the lawsuit.”
From Lawsuit To The Highest Grossing Video Game
The O’Bannons won the lawsuit and All athletes were compensated pennies compared to the amount the big companies were making. Fast forward to now and NIL deals and paying athletes in college are now legal. The rise for probably the highest-grossing video game ever not named GTA happens this week. Building your dynasty by taking a one-star team and building them into a five-star powerhouse is the most fun aspect of a college football game. Recruiting, training, and gameplay.
This football game is the most in-depth sports game on the market. Imagine playing as Shadeur Sanders throwing to Travis Hunter instead of QB #2 passing to WR #12!
Athletes in the game will receive $600 and a free copy of the game. That is a huge milestone, and even though it does not seem like a lot, That’s all a college athlete really wants. I would have loved $600 and a free copy of the game because everyone knows college athletes are broke. At least I am speaking from experience. “I was a broke student athlete!” I would have taken $100, the video game, and a box of Girl Scout cookies. That’s how broke I was in college.
With the new conference realignments and all of the hype, this week should be named College Football 25 week. Everyone who plays this game deserves the week off because ever since the announcement the hype has been real and today will be monumental!
