Serena Moves Into Semifinals Of U.S. Open
The draw is setting up nicely for Serena Williams as she continues her quest to tie the record for most major championships. Serena moved into the semifinals of the U.S. Open yesterday in New York as she easily dispatched Wang Qiang of China 6-1, 6-0. It only took 44 minutes for Serena to pound Ms. Qiang into submission. Serena will now face Elina Svitolina tomorrow in the semis. Defending U.S. Open champion and number one seed Naomi Osaka was ousted on Monday and number two seed Ashleigh Barty was defeated on Sunday by Qiang. If Serena keeps up her dominating play, she’ll be hoisting the U.S. Open trophy on Saturday.
