Can you believe we have initiated chapter 4 of 2021? As I woke up today to the first Monday of April, I wasn’t my usual happy self. Just like everyone else, I go through my ups and downs, especially when I have the tendency to be my own worst critic. I expect perfection of myself, although I am well aware it’s impossible to obtain.
As I was preparing myself for work, I could feel I was having an “off” morning. Not everything that I plan turns out perfect, and to me that’s always something that bothers me because if I prepare for it, then why are things not going according to plan? I can ask myself that question and I can answer it as well… because life is not meant to be perfect!
I got in my car and my radio started playing Aaliyah’s “Try Again.” I smiled and knew that although my actions cannot be perfect, these song lyrics were the perfect inspiration for my “good goods.” I turned the volume up and started singing along to the chorus: “if at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself and try again.”
