Holiday Weekend Sports Wrap Up
The Thanksgiving holiday weekend was a busy one for our local sports teams.
The Raiders traveled to Dallas to play the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day and broke their three game losing streak by beating the Cowboys 36-33 in overtime. DeSean Jackson helped the Raiders’ offense get back into gear with three catches for 102 yards and a touchdown. He also drew a couple of pass interference penalties that helped keep scoring drives alive. The Raiders return home to Allegiant Stadium to play Washington this Sunday at 1:05pm.
Our Vegas Golden Knights lost to Edmonton 3-2 on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. The Knights play at Anaheim on Wednesday and then travel to Phoenix to play the Coyotes on Friday.
The UNLV Rebels football team wrapped up their season losing at Air Force 48-14 last Friday. UNLV did mange to win their first two games under head coach Marcus Arroyo after enduring an extended losing streak. The Rebels finished the season 2-8.
The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels men’s basketball team beat Division Three Whittier College 101-45 last Wednesday but couldn’t keep up with UCLA on Saturday, losing 73-51. The Runnin’ Rebels play at SMU on Wednesday at 5pm and at the University of San Francisco on Friday at 7pm.
