Remarkable Singers Vs Fantastic Performers
From smooth singers like Frank Sinatra to R&B legends like Aretha Franklin and the late great Luther Vandross, countless artists and musicians have redefined genres, sold millions of albums, and touched our souls with their beautiful voices. While many singers we know and love can actually move you with their vocal instruments, There are some that can move you with their performance.
Great Singers vs. Good Performers
There’s no denying that some musicians aren’t good at some aspect of their craft, but not everyone is meant to sing, or as my grandmother would say…”Sang”. There’s a difference between singing and “Sangin’. Singing is the gift to entertain and perform, while Sangin’ gives you goosebumps. Both talents require an artist to be able to reach and capture their audience with their individual gift. however, some artists are truly overrated when it comes to singing. here’s my list of performers vs. Sangers!
Jennifer Hudson, also known by her nickname J.Hud, was born in Chicago Illinois. She’s an actress and television personality. Having received numerous accolades for her work in music, film, television, and theater. According to Billboard.com J-Hud became the youngest woman and third African-American recipient of all four major American entertainment awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony in 2022.
Now this woman can SANG!!! if there’s an artist that chooses to do a duet with her, they better be ready to bring it!
The next artist on my radar is Jennifer Lopez. According to Empireonline.com, “J.Lo, is an American actress, singer, record producer, dancer, television personality, fashion designer, and television producer”. She’s a great entertainer, however, she did not make the list of musicians who can SANG! I have to admit though, that she is eye candy, but can’t hold a microphone up against JHud.
Then there’s Christina Aguilera. This queen can blow! According to her website, she’s a multiple Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter renowned for her powerful voice and hit songs.
Throughout her career, she has sold more than 75 million records worldwide. Aguilera has achieved five No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart making her the third female artist, and fourth overall, to top the chart over three consecutive decades (1990s, 2000s, and 2010s).
Now let’s not just include women in this list of good or bad singers, there are some men who come close to scratching a chalkboard.

Keith Sweat is one of the most talented songwriters in the business. He sells out concerts all over the world and is highly respected in the R&B genre. I personally love his music, but can he sing, or can he Sang? I will let you decide on this one.
This has to be one of my favorite male artists of all time. His voice is simply unique and unforgettable. The late great Luther Vandross was one of the most highly respected singers in the business. For almost 25 years, Luther dominated the American R+B music charts like no other artist before or since. In that span, Luther released eight number-one R&B albums, seven number-one R&B singles, and another five Top 20 R&B singles. This man could Sang!
